Christina & Brad's Wedding

What a weekend we have had! Our dear friends Christina & Brad got married on Saturday. It was a lovely wedding and Brian and I were thrilled to be a part of there big day. Brad is Brian's cousin and best friend & Christina and I own our monogramming business, Got Me In Stithces (www.gotmeinstitches.com) together. Brian and I were lucky enough to be the matchmakers for Brad and Christina and we are thrilled that our match worked out so perfectly.

All of the events began on Friday with separate boy and girls activities. On Friday, Brian went golfing with some of the groomsman and once again forgot to wear sunscreen so when he got home to get ready for the rehearsal he looked like a lobster, lucky by go time on Saturday it had faded some. On Friday, I meet all the bridesmaids and close friends at The Country Club of Virginia for a luncheon hosted by Christina's godmother, Pat. It was lovely and the food was delicious. After the luncheon we went to get manicures and pedicures which was great. My pregnant feet love a good rub! Later that afternoon we all meet back up at Trinity for the rehearsal followed by a wonderful rehearsal dinner at Maggiano's hosted by Brad's parents...it was delicious and once again I ate way to much food!

Saturday was a day full of getting ready for the ceremony which began at 5. The girls spent all day at Sandy's house, getting ready, relaxing, eating lunch & watching movies. The guys got ready at Brad's Dad's house. The reception took place at The Renaissance on Broad Street, it was wonderful and a good time was had by everyone...or at least from all the dancing we did it seemed that way! Brian and I headed home after the reception, where I had to take 48 bobby pins out of my hair...that was more than on my wedding day and as soon as my head hit the pillow I was out.

On Sunday morning we attended a brunch for Brad and Christina hosted by her grade level. The food was delicious and it was great to see them one more time before they hit the road Monday morning for their honeymoon in Charleston. (On a side note...I did a great job of keeping the honeymoon secret from Christina....she didn't know where they were going, but I have know for at least 4 or 5 months....and I didn't slip once!...Brian on the other hand almost ruined the surprise at the brunch, but Christina swears she didn't hear him say the location!) I hope they have a wonderful time & we can't wait to hear all about it when the return.

We spent the rest of Sunday doing nothing but lying on the couch and watching movies and tv, we watched "Gran Torino" staring Clint Eastwood....really great movie & then we watched "The Patriot." We ordered pizza for dinner & were in bed asleep by 9:45...my kind of night!

A Weekend Full Of Nothing

This weekend was full of nothing...just the kind of weekends I enjoy! Well I take that back, there were a few things that happened this weekend but nothing to exiting.

On Friday night we had dinner with my parents & sister before my parents departure to Hawaii on Saturday, we ate at Longhorn's it was pretty good, but the night got interesting when after dinner at my parents house they got a call saying their flights were canceled which meant they weren't going to Hawaii on Saturday anymore...now they are going on Thursday b/c those were the first flights they could get on...what the heck is the airline industry up to! We are glad they are still going & glad that we got to celebrate Father's Day twice with Dad!

Let's see on Saturday Brian and his friend Chris, began the process of putting up chair rail, crown molding & bead board in the nursery...I am not sure how many times those boys went up & down the stairs, but it made me tired just listening to them. While they were busy doing that Grover was at the doggie spa getting a summer hair cut & I was cleaning..oh the joys of being a homeowner!

Sunday we grabbed lunch at Red Robin for Soon To Be Father's Day & then headed home to watch the US Open...I really wanted Phil "Lefty" Mickelson to win, but alas we came in tied for 2nd...his place of choice in the US Open (i think it is the 5th time he has come in 2nd place at this tournament). Then later in the afternoon we returned the boy bedding we had bought at Pottery Barn Kids since we are having a girl & headed over to my parents house to celebrate Father's Day again with more golf watching & dinner.

Just a final side note...i now have pickle fingers & can't wear my rings anymore...so a trip to Target will be in order to get some fake bling!

Looking like an alien!

So it's official we have a blog & we are having a baby girl, Margaret Campbell Harris. We will be calling her Campbell & she WILL arrive on or before November 3rd, well not to early but not one minute late. A quick explination of the name, Campbell we just came up with on our own & Margaret has been passed down to the girls on my mom's side of the family & was Brian's mom's name so it just seemed like the perfect fit. The other great thing about her name is that we will share the same monogram, which is wonderful because I already know which fonts work with our initials & which ones don't...and this is very important for someone who owns a monogramming business!

I am also super excited about ordering her bedding that I have spent way to much time finalizing. On Tuesday night before we knew what she was, I went over to Leigh's house to discuss options one more time & make final selections for fabric placement on the bumper, skirt & chair...so many decisions to make. The bedding has been reviewed & discussed with many of my buddies!

Yesterday at our doctors appointment we got to watch Campbell swim around for about 45 minutes while they got all the pictures & measurements they needed. She is a busy bee and I am glad that I don't feel her moving around that much or I might never be able to relax, she was on the go. It is really neat to feel her kick & she has started doing it more and more the last several days. At the appointment she weighed 12 oz and her heart rate was 145 BPM.

After our appointment yesterday Brian & I braved Babies R Us...or as I refer to it Hell on Earth, to be honest on the weekdays it doesn't seem to be horrible, but the weekends are a different story. So we got most of the major things on to the registry & then we decided we had been there long enough & could add additional items from the comfort of our couch! We also had to get some food because I was starving, so off the Panera we went for my favorite summertime salad!
