Closet Clean Out

What else would I do on a snow day but clean out a closet...whose closet...Campbell's. I know she isn't even 3 months old, but I wanted to reorganize her closet and put some of her smaller clothing away and get some of the bigger sizes out...so I figured might as well redo the entire thing. I add one small shelf in the bottom, to store some smaller items.

Here is the before

Everything out of the closet...I know how to pack a closet(in an organized way!)

Here is the after

Here is my helper before

My helper after...organizing makes her tired!

Brian & I also watched 1.5 movies....we tried to watch "All About Steve" but it was horrible so we turned it off after 45 minutes. Then we watched "The Hurt Locker" a movie about the war in Iraq & the guys that disarm IEDs it was really intense. Last time we measured the snow it was about 7.5 inches but that was around 3:00 so who knows what the final measurement will be.

Tomorrow will be another inside day, so who knows what I will want to organize. I know laundry is one item on the TO DO List!

Bummer

We are supposed to get another 6-10 inches of snow tomorrow....and while I do love to look at the snow it just just a pain now b/c I don't go in play in it & because it is going to cancel our Annual Maggiano's dinner with the Turners & Koehlers...ugg! I was really looking forward to all that yummy food!

We will just have to reschedule...but February is a much busier month for us. So instead of yummy Maggiano's food I will probably end up eating soup and there is nothing fun about that! Hope everyone enjoys the snow....I plan on cleaning out the pantry & reorganizing Campbell's closet...but don't tell Brian...he gets mad when I move things around!

Campbell's First VCU Game

We took Campbell to her first VCU Basketball game tonight. We got to see her Auntie Leigh, she was there with people from work. Campbell even had a VCU t-shirt to wear thanks to her Noni & Aunt Katie.

Here is a picture of her before the game in her t-shirt.
She looks terrified in these pictures...haha

I am not sure how but she fell asleep toward the end of the game just as it got really really loud. We were glad we were at a winning game. We beat Towson 112 to 53. It was a great game. Brian & I even it made it onto the kiss cam...guess they assume if you have a baby with you, you probably kiss!

Campbell Goes To Work

This morning I packed Campbell up & took her to see her daddy at work. I had a job interview this morning & felt it was only appropriate not to show up with my child. So Campbell spent about an hour at Brian's office.

The interview went well & if all else fails it was a great way to get my feet wet in the interviewing process & I might get some monogramming business out of it as well.

Here is a picture of Campbell hard at work with her daddy.

Play Date with Addie

Campbell & I headed out this morning for another fun play date with Addie, Wiley & Ashely. We meet up over at Ashley's house for lunch & I would like to report that this time Campbell was actually awake for most of the play date. She did take a 25 minute nap while we ate lunch, but I was pretty impressed with her. Here are a few pictures from the afternoon.

Meals We Are Eating

Campbell & I headed out to the grocery store this morning to get everything we need to make meals for the next two weeks. I love to grocery shop & I have found that Wednesday are the best days to shop at the Kroger by our house...but NEVER go on Tuesday b/c it is senior citizen day & they just can't shop...sorry! We usually have to make another trip to the store about half way through the 2 weeks to get more milk & some other items that might have been forgotten!

We don't have to much planned this week, but Noni & Pops are going to come over on Sunday for football & time with Campbell! So we will be getting a couple of little extras at the grocery store to make football food!

Here is what we shopped for:

Spaghetti
Tuscan Chicken with Roasted Veggies
Mushroom & Garlic Pork Chops
Baked Potatoes & French Onion Soup
Baked Ravioli
Red Pepper Fettuccine
Broccoli Chicken Potato Parmesan
Chicken with Egg Noodles
Fiesta Chicken & Rice
BBQ Chicken with Yellow Rice
Grilled Chicken Salad
Stir Fry

We will let you know how they come out...a couple of them are new recipes we are going to try! One of my favorite cookbooks is The Food You Crave by Ellie Krieger...she is on the Food Network & does healthy but yummy cooking. You should check her out!

Weekend Recap

On Saturday morning, Brian got up and went to work so Campbell & I just hung out around the house & tried to work on her napping in her crib. She for the most part is an excellent napper everywhere but her crib...she can sleep in her swing, bouncey seat & loves to sleep in her car seat. But her crib is her least favorite spot to sleep, or at least nap so we are working on it. We have had 3 naps in her crib...last about an hour, but not today. Today she only napped in her crib for 30 minutes & then had a fit, so i got her out of her crib & she feel asleep in my arms, which I love, but I also know that I can't have her nap on me forever!

When Brian got home, we all packed up in the car & headed to Hair Cuttery so Brian could get "beautiful"...haha! Then we went to Jersey Mike's for subs & after lunch we headed out to see Noni, Pops & Aunt Katie. We spent the afternoon with them and watched football.

This is what Campbell thinks of watching football!

We had a Sunday full of fun neighborhood events & we wouldn't have it any other way. I love weekends with fun things planned it gives me something to look forward to all week! First at 2 I headed over to Kimberly & Daniel's house to meet baby Ryan, he is about 1 month younger than Campbell. Brian and Campbell hung out at home b/c Brian was working & Campbell was napping. Later in the afternoon we headed over to our good friends & neighbors house for La-La's half birthday celebration! We had pizza and yummy cupcakes that Leigh had made. We always have such a good time over at their house & are so lucky to have them as friends & neighbors!

Hope everyone has a good week!

We Did It!

So Campbell & I went to the Social Security Office this morning & after 2 trips we finally got all the paper work filled to get her a social security number...now all we have to do is wait! I really wish when you looked at their website & when you called the office they would tell you all the paperwork that you need to bring with you...but I guess that is the government for you...and we want them to run health care...good luck!

On a side note the house smells super yummy....dinner is in the crockpot! Also, we are super excited because Aunt Katie is coming over tomorrow for dinner & to stay the night! We always have so much fun with her!

An Adventure For Tomorrow

So tomorrow Campbell & I are headed to the Social Security Office to get her social security card. We should have already received the card & we would have if a certain someone (that would be my husband) wasn't in such a rush to leave the hospital. Now don't get me wrong I wanted to get out of there also, but we hadn't gotten our paperwork to prove Campbell's birth. They mailed us everything we needed, but since we had already left they didn't/couldn't fill out the paper work for a social security number...so tomorrow we have to go and sit at that office for who knows how long.

The last time I was there was to get my name changed after getting married and I had to wait over an hour...ugg! Maybe they will be nice to me since I have a baby, but I doubt it! Also, the security guard at the office was mean & kept glaring at people making noise...hope he doesn't yell at people with babies or babies for that matter!

Wish me luck & I will be sure to let you know how it goes!

Campbell's 2 Month Check-Up

We went this morning for Campbell's 2 month check up. Dr. S said she looked great & Campbell even showed off her rolling skills for her. Dr. S said that Campbell will have to be a floor baby if she is already rolling, no leaving her unattended on the couch or bed, but we already knew that.

She got her 5 shots & one liquid "shot." She did pretty well, she started crying after the 2nd shot & cried really hard when the nurse went over the shot spot with the alcohol swab. After a little cuddling with mommy & a car ride home she is out.

As for her stats....

Length 23 1/2" 90th percentile

Head 15 3/4" 75th percentile

Weight 12 lbs 11 oz 95th percentile

So, Dr. S. said she is right on track & looks great! She said we are a great match & I would have to agree!

Arts & Crafts Weekend

We had a rather low key weekend..complete with Campbell's first arts & craft project. Well actually the project was for her, she did not participate. She hung out in her bouncey seat or swing while we painted.

I had always wanted to get the letter for her name, but the ones that I really liked cost $18 each and when you have a long name like Campbell that equals $144, which as much as I love the letters is a bit much for me. So I decide to make my own letters. But I also decided to go for just her initials. So, I set out on Friday for Michaels and bought the letters that I would need & since I already had the craft paint my little project cost me about $9. I think the letters came out really cute & can't wait to hang them above her crib.

These are the $18 letters...cute but in the end I think our turned out better!

I must also give credit to Brian, he helped with this little craft project & might just be better at crafting than I am. He painted the "M" & I painted the "C" & "H" I think all three letters look great & really go well with her bedding.

We also spent most of yesterday afternoon over at Noni & Pop's house which was fun. We watched football & ate yummy beef stew that Noni made. Noni & I also went to Tweed, which is a store that I happen to love, but really isn't mommy friendly, especially if you have a baby in a stroller or really a child that might pick up anything. I didn't get anything but I love to look around and think about what I would do with all the wonderful stuff they have there. We were commenting on how expensive they are getting, which is sad because I love that store.

Campbell & Pop's Watching Football

Sunday was basically spent around the house with one trip out into the freezing cold to get dog food & Brian's haircut, but only part of our trip was successful since Hair Cuttery had a 40 minute wait, or at least that was he wait for Brian's favorite hair lady...Ann!

Well hope everyone has a good week..we have a busy Monday...Campbell finally goes back to the doctor for her 2 month check up & her shots...yikes! But I can't wait to see how much she is going to weigh. Any guess?

Here is a picture of our little lady sitting in her bumbo seat, well actually her buddy Avery's bumbo seat that we are borrowing! In this picture Campbell is participating in her favorite activity...looking at the fan!

Also, I don't know that I every put up a picture of the painting that our good friend Christina painted for Campbell's nursery. I asked her to do it a while back & really gave her nothing to go on and this is what she painted! I love it & it is so special to me. I can't wait to tell Campbell all about it! Thank you Christina!

Play Date with Addie

We are having a great time visiting with our friends Ashley & Addie. For play date number 3 we meet them at Cartwheels & Coffee, located in Carytown. That place is really need and will be even better once she is up and moving around on her own. But it was great to get together with Ashley & of course take some more pictures of Campbell & Addie together.

Today they are wearing matching outfits that Mrs. Tuohey gave them. Mrs. Tuohey teaches with my mom & thought the girls would look cute in matching outfits...she was right!

In this picture Campbell & Addie are sharing a secret! I can't wait till they are really old enough to share secrets just like Ashley & I did growing up!

As you can also see, Campbell is growing up so fast...she is already hanging out in a Bumbo seat.

She seemed to like the seat, even though she was using it as a recliner.

We will have to get her a seat of her own for at home, since this was at Cartwheels & Coffee.

Two Months Old

I can't believe my little baby is two months old today, well actually yesterday, but I never got around to posting this post....slacker mom!

At 2 months Campbell is:

*Sleeping a solid 6 hours a night
*Smiling
*Starting to talk to us
*Sleeping in her crib in her own room
*Loving her activity mat
*Not minding tummy time as much
*Still rolling some from her tummy to back
*Loving bath time
*Loving car rides (probably b/c the put her to sleep)

We have loved every minute of the past 2 months, baby bell!

Vinyl Wall Art

We managed to get the two vinyl wall decals that I had up on the wall today. I have had them since October, so it was only fitting that we got them hung up.

This is the one in Campbell's bathroom, we decided to put it on the mirror because we haven't painted her bathroom yet. All I know is that we will probably end up painting it a neutral color, like blue or green. So, I thought the blue wall art would look good with either of those two colors. I am leaning towards painting it a blue color since her bedroom is green, but we will see. I might even try painting the bathroom myself, but don't hold your breath because I hate to paint!

The second vinyl wall art is on the wall outside of our master bedroom. I plan to do a huge family photo wall around it with different frames & pictures. So, once I have the wall finished I will make sure to publish another post with a picture. But that will probably take me a while since I will have to find all the frames I want and then all the pictures that I want. But for now it looks nice the way it is.

I will give lots of credit to Brian for hanging them, because they aren't as easy as they make them out to be. Getting the letters to stick without air bubbles is tough. I helped hanging part of the one outside our bedroom & my fingers were stinging from having to push so hard to get the letters to stick to the wall and come off the paper backing. I had thought about ordering some more to go around the house but Brian might kill me, but I really want to get something to go above Campbell's crib & vinyl wall art seems like the most economical way to go.

Campbell had a rough afternoon as you can see from this picture...this picture. She fell asleep on Brian's lap like this while we were watching football.

Rough Life!

Good Food & Great Friends

Tonight we had our great friends Jessica & Mark over for dinner. We love getting together with them...they are amazing friends & really wonderful people. They are the ones I mentioned in my 2010 post. They are getting married October 10, i.e. 10/10/10! We couldn't be more excited for them & I am super excited as Jessica has asked me to be one of her bridesmaids! After dinner tonight we watched Ice Age 3, which was funny & cute but I still think 1 & 2 are way better. Ice Age 3 was sweet b/c Ellie & Manny have a baby and we know how I feel about babies, especially my sweet little one!

Brian was in charge of dinner tonight & he did a wonderful job. He made chicken & beef enchiladas. We got the recipe for the chicken enchiladas from Rita, who we went to the beach with this summer. Brian decide to make beef enchiladas to go with them & let me tell you they both came out AMAZING!!! I was in charge of dessert & I made chocolate fondue...which came out okay, not nearly as good as the Melting Pot chocolate fondue.

Brian spent the afternoon prepping for dinner tonight, while I took down all the Christmas decorations, don't worry Campbell was napping we didn't forget about her. The only things left to take down are the outside decorations & the tree, since I can't do that by myself. So hopefully we will get that down tomorrow b/c I am tired for vacuuming up needles.

As for plans for tomorrow I think the involve carrying the decorations to the third floor storage room, hanging up a couple of vinyl wall graphics & watching football! Hope everyone has a good Sunday!
